1 killed, 30 injured in three bombing incidents in Thailand
Bangkok : Three separate bombs rocked Thailand’s troubled Muslim majority southern province, killing a woman and injuring 30 others that prompted police to begin a probe into the matter.
The first explosion damaged nearby buildings and vehicles parked at the site. A woman was injured who later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The second bomb hit a parking space behind a pub in Muang district yesterday where no casualties were reported.
The third incident took place in front of a hotel near the pub where another bomb blast had taken place. Initial police investigation showed that the bomb was hidden in a vehicle that was left at the scene.
The third bomb exploded in front of a fresh market in Nong Chik district injuring one person.
Deputy premier Prawit Wongsuwon said Police chief Chakthip Chaijinda and military officers have been ordered to investigate last night’s bombings in Pattani.
The minister also said last night’s bombings were not linked to the previous bomb attacks that took place in six provinces of Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phangnga, Phuket, Surat Thani and Trang on August 11 and 12.
