‘Amhi Vengurlyache’ fest to boost tourism in the region!

But along with nature, forts, the historical heritage was neglected for many years. The tourism festival is a brain child of Swabhiman Sanghtana Chief Nitesh Rane, is coming up to introduce the rich heritage, beautiful nature and culture to the tourists.
Thus from January 3 to January 5, the first ‘Amhi Vengurlyache’ tourist festival will enlighten Konkan’s culture. The festival is designed to boost the tourism industry in the region. The festival is taking place with the sponsorship of ‘Maharashtra Kalanidhi’ and ‘Sindhudurg Guide’.
Vengurla is still keeping its natural beauty intact in all these years. After the end of the Vengurla port, taluka’s prosperity has decreased. As Sindhudurg district is declared as ‘Tourism district’, Vengurla’s development through tourism is a motive behind it.
The festival is organized at Khardekar college ground. Various competitions like Memento competition, essay and poster making competition along with Rangoli competition are organized on this occasion.
In addition, bicycle competition, mini marathon is also organized during the festival. On the festival day, a Auto Rickshaw beauty contest is also organized.
A special issue informing Vengurla’s culture and heritage will be published. The special issue will be comprised of latest pictures with important information.
In addition, the special issue will focus on Vengurla’s historic importance, temple culture, village life, rural folk life style, traditional ceremonies in Vengurla along with rural art works and fishery business along with other gems of Konkan’s culture.
The special issue will have taluka and district map along with natural beauty and historical importance of Vengurla.
At the festival place, a ‘Fish and Food’ festival will be organized. Vengurle Tourism Festival committee has appealed all to participate in the festival.
