Aruna Shanbaug’s health improves
Aruna Shanbaug has been kept under Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) as she has caught the pneumonia and her condition is improving
Mumbai: Aruna Shanbaug has been kept under Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) as she has caught the pneumonia. At present her condition is improving. Besides the painting work of her room is also completed and she would be shifted to her in next two days. Dr. Shubhangi Parkar who is KEM hospital’s Dean in-charge, informed.
Aruna, who was working as a nurse, is bedridden and getting treated from past 39 years at KEM hospital. Some days before the doctors found that Aruna has caught pneumonia soon after that she was shifted to the MICU. Aruna had also gone under the physio therapy and she had responded well.
Her room was also needed some repairing and painting. Thus when she was shifted to MICU, the room was maintained and painted in this duration. The doctors visited Aruna’s room and observed the work. It is informed that Aruna’s condition was improving.
Aruna is in vegetative state since she was sexually assaulted by a ward boy in 1973. Since then she is being treated in the King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEM).
