Meanwhile, for increasing demand of travelers from Thane, Navi Mumbai and Mira-Bhayander, transport department of BEST started bus services in these areas by the State Government’s orders. But there are very less passengers apart from working hours putting BEST in financial losses, informed a senior officer.
BEST is already facing trouble due to hiked rates of fuel and spare parts. Still, they have decided to keep these services running in Thane, Mira-Bhayander and Navi Mumbai for people’s convenience.
“BEST started their bus services in Mira-Bhayander on 27th March 1991, Thane on 23rd October 1995 and Navi Mumbai on 30th April 1984. Later, it was developed according to increasing demand of commuters.”
