BJP workers protest Kejriwal’s arrival in Varanasi
Arvind Kejrival today faced protests allegedly by BJP workers after he arrived here to kickstart his campaign against Narendra Modi
Kejriwal, who arrived here by Shivganga express train, faced an angry mob of BJP workers at different points in the town shouting slogans of ‘Kejriwal vapas jao’ and ‘Kejriwal Murdabad’.
Not only this but eggs were thrown at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s car outside the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, his supporters alleged.
The incident occurred when Kejriwal was exiting the temple after performing prayers ahead of his rally in which he
will declare his candidature against BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, they said.
However, the police at the spot denied that any such incident took place.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal sought divine intervention and visited the Kaal Bhairon, Kashi Vishwanath and the Sankat Mochan Temple. He is also expected to take a dip in the Ganges.
While Kejriwal was inside the Kashi Vishwanath temple performing ‘abhishek’ along with his family and fellow party leaders Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia, Modi supporters raised slogans in support of the Gujarat Chief Minister.
The AAP leader arrived here today morning with around 50 workers and is scheduled to address a rally later in the day to ask the people of the constituency whether he should take on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi who is contesting from this seat.
He first faced opposition by the BJP workers at Tagore town colony in Bhojubir locality where he halted at a party worker’s residence and later faced similar opposition at Baba Kal Bhairon temple in Vishesehwarganj locality.
The AAP workers retaliated by raising anti-Modi slogans, a party official said.
