BSNL authorities urge Arunachal Power minister to set up tower
Itanagar: The top rung of North East BSNL authority have drawn the attention of Arunachal Pradesh Home and Power (Electrical) Minister Tanga Byaling to direct the power department to erect 132 KV tower and 33/11 KV poles to facilitate laying of optical fibre cable as an alternate with district headquarters in the state.
After an eight-day whirwind tour to the state, the team called on the home minister here Saturday evening to apprise him of the difficulties faced by BSNL in providing effective service in this land-locked state, a communiqué informed here today.
Byaling sought the support of BSNL authorities for improving services in remote and rural areas of the state while assuring all support to the telecom service provider.
The BSNL officials also pointed out the possibilities of establishment of solar power plant for telecom facilities in remote areas through Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA) or other departments during the meeting, the communiqué said.
The team comprising Shillong-based NE-I circle CGM D P Singh, Dimapur-based NE-II circle CGM T Durga Prashad, DGM Arung Siram, SE(E) Mara Kocho and Telecom Advisory Committee member Tungri Effa, visited Changlang, Namsai, Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Subansiri and Lower Subansiri districts, the communiqué said.
