CCTV-web to curb the brokers in MHADA
52 CCTV cameras installed at MHADA office, security arrangement to be improved
Mumbai: Now the brokers and security system in Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Agency (MHADA) office would be under CCTV cameras’ scanner so as to curb the wrong doings. Total 52 CCTV cameras would be installed till March end and online tenders would be invited within next three to four days. At present there were only 13 CCTV cameras fixed on MHADA premises.
The e-tenders from KORES, Align Digital, Intel Vision, GMP and Comptech have been received and the assessment of the tenders would be carried out in next two days.
A separate chamber will be developed in the vigilance department on the fourth floor next to computer department, Engineer Anil Ankalgi informed.
At present 13 cameras have been already fixed at various locations in the premises but it was becoming difficult to keep an eye with less number of cameras.
The private security has been moved and MHADA’s security personnel have been deployed. Thus here after MHADA building would have strong security cover.
Brokers, the fake applicants, who get benefited with MHADA flats and cheat the common man, still visit the MHADA office in numbers. The incidents that the brokers got the flats in the lotteries have been occurred earlier as well. Some brokers have been acquitted and some are facing enquiry but no stringent action has been taken against them.
17 brokers are on MHADA’s vigilance department’s list. Some of the brokers freely roam in MHADA building. The common man’s problems get solved with some of the officials’ actions but more is needed.
Now CCTV cameras will be fixed from the front gate to the fix floor of the MHADA building and more will be installed, if needed.
