Navi Mumbai: When Nationalist Congress party and Shivsena are playing politics over the cluster development issue, CIDCO has pitched in for the redevelopment and it has given a new dimension to the issue.
Pramod Hindurao, chairman, CIDCO Maharashtra, announced that the agency would redevelop around 3500 houses in Panvel, Kalamboli, Nerul and Raigad area.
Ganesh Naik, Thane district Minister in-charge, has apprehensions over the redevelopment in Navi Mumbai municipal corporation limits as well as over the cluster development plan in Thane.
Talking with Prahaar, Pramod Hindurao said, “CIDCO is firm over the decision of redeveloping the area comes under CIDCO limits. The agency will take a pro- government stand and the decision will be taken in the board of directors’ meeting,” he said.
At first, CIDCO is planning a redevelop project of around 3500 houses in Kharghar, Kalamboli and Nerul area on a pilot basis. Hindurao also mentioned that nodes for redevelopment would be chosen one at a time. He said that around 24,000 houses in the gaothan area will be regularized out of necessity.
