Citizens of Rajapur remain without ‘Aadhar’ again
The staff of Aadhar Card’s Rajapur registration center has not yet resumed from Diwali vacation keeping gas connection consumers without ‘Aadhar’
Rajapur: Aadhar Card registration is made mandatory in Rajapur for gas connection from 25th October. But the staff of Aadhar Card registration center has not yet resumed from Diwali vacation keeping gas connection consumers without ‘Aadhar’.
Consumers are facing unnecessary trouble because of irresponsible behavior of a contractor who has taken contract for Aadhar Card registration and improper strategies of government. The center was closed for Diwali from 2nd to 8th November without any knowledge to the administration.
Gas distribution company has now made it mandatory to have Aadhar Card to connect consumer’s bank account to deposit government subsidy. Only 20 per cent work of registration has been completed in Rajapur so far.
Around 9,600 gas connection holders exist in Rajapur when only 1000 of them possess Aadhar Card. To facilitate them, government opened Aadhar registration center just next to the Shriram Gas Agency in Rajapur on 25th October, but only 225 gas connection holders registered between 25th October and 1st November on the center.
The staff of this center has gone on a long Diwali vacation since 2nd November who has not yet resumed. When contacted Tahsildar office in this regards, they said, they have contacted the contractor and the staff will resume within two days and start the work of registration. But in reality, it is said that the staff has escaped as contractor have not arranged meal for them at the center.
The citizens and gas connection holders are suffering of irresponsible behavior of district administration and contractor.
