Mumbai: Congress has started its preparations to face the elections. As a part of the preparations each minister has been given the responsibility of one or two Lok Sabha constituencies. Industry Minister Narayan Rane has been Konkan’s responsibility, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee head Manikrao Thakre informed.
Meanwhile, the ministers and the senior party workers have to submit the review of the constituency per week, Thakre said.
Senior Congress ministers are given the responsibility of constituencies where Congress candidates are to contest for the elections.
Thus 26 Lok Sabha constituencies will be reviewed in the first phase in which senior Congress leader and Industry Minister Narayan Rane has given awarded the responsibility of Raigad and Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Lok Sabha constituencies.
Ramesh Bagwe and Adv. Mahadeo Shelar will work as Regional heads. The concerned ministers and heads would update about concerned constituencies after the weekly cabinet meeting and a strategy will be designed as per the updates.
“The Congress-led Lok Sabha constituencies of 2009 elections will only be observed. But some changes will be made after the discussions with Nationalist Congress Party,” Thakre said.
Meanwhile, Varsha Gaikwad, Suresh Shetty and Nasim Khan are given the responsibility of five Mumbai Lok Sabha constituencies.
