Cyber crime on celluloid
The cast reveals clarifies how the movie is nothing like ‘Vicky Donor’ as it is more of a comic thriller
Entertaining the audience on the small screen, Manish Paul has plans of making it big in the tinsel town with his upcoming lead debut with Greek model Elli Avram in ‘Mickey Virus’. Directed by Saurabh Varma the film is a comic thriller and revolves around the topic of cyber crime.
Considering it’s a comic role, it fits the actor’s genre keeping his personality in mind for we have seen him jumping, mimicking and cracking lighthearted jokes all the time on television. “I was thinking of doing movies, which is why I contacted Saurabh sir. I revealed to him that my pet name at home is Micky. Then he told me that the character comes from Malve Nagar and I was surprised and told him that even I’m from Malve Nagar. He thought I was joking but after our conversation he called me post 10 pm and asked me if I could do the film,” says Manish Paul who has prior to this also worked in movies like ‘Maruti Mera Dost’, ‘Tees Maar Khan’ and ‘ABCD’. However this is going to be his big debut.
The lead heroine, Elli Avram is trying out her luck in Bollywood with this being her debut. While she has some bold scenes in the film and she talks about it saying, “As I said, I heard the script and I really liked it and since the script required it I was fine with the bold scenes because I believe as an actor you should just perform as the script’s need. I was a little bit tensed and shy but then I just performed.”
Speculation revolve around the film about it being related to ‘Vicky Donor’ although Manish clears out all these rumours saying, “This is nothing close to ‘Vicky Donor’, yes that’s true that it sound familiar considering I am Micky and Ayushmann Khurrana was Vicky. But that’s the only similarity and the movies are completely different once you see it. Similarities, comparisons are a part and parcel of our job.”
The trailers of the film have released and the movie is set for its release on September 13, 2013.
