Dalit kids death: Paswan says Haryana govt accountable
Patna : BJP ally and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today sought to fix the responsibility on the Haryana government for the death of two children of a Dalit family who were burnt alive in Sonped village of the state.
“Law and order is totally state government’s accountability… though the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes have constitutional protection, this issue is completely state government’s responsibility,” he told reporters here.
Two children died when their house on the outskirts of Delhi was set afire allegedly by a crowd of upper caste men in the wee hours yesterday.
Vaibhav, who was two-and-a-half years old, and his sister, 11-month-old Divya, died on the spot after the attackers allegedly poured petrol and set the house ablaze.
Their mother Rekha suffered 70 per cent burns and has been referred to Delhi for treatment while their father Jitender too suffered injuries while trying to save his family.
