Dawood in Karachi, claims terrorist Tunda
Tunda told Delhi Police that the underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim stays in a safe house in Karachi and is protected by ISI
New Delhi: A close associate of Dawood and terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda told Delhi Police that the underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim stays in Karachi and is protected by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, according to a top Delhi police official. Tunda, one of India’s most wanted terrorists, has claimed that he met Dawood several times and he (Dawood) first called him to meet in the year 2010.
During his stay in Pakistan, 70 year old Tunda, a bomb maker for LeT, told the police he had been in touch with organizations like ISI, LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Indian Mujahiddin and Babbar Khalsa and had been meeting people like Hafiz Saeed, Maulana Masood Azhar, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, Dawood Ibrahim and several others wanted by India.
Known to be close to Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, Tunda, holding a Pakistani passport with the name Abdul Quddus, was arrested from the Banwasa Mehendarnagar on the Indo-Nepal border and brought to Delhi on Friday at around 3 pm.
Shahryar Khan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special envoy for Track-II dialogue with India, had admitted in London on 9th August that Dawood was once in his country but said he has been “chased out” and could be in the UAE.
A day later, the former Pakistani foreign secretary said he had no idea whether the Gangster was in the country, contradicting to Khan’s statement.
“The Ministry of Interior would have probably known but the Foreign Ministry does not. I have no idea whether he is in Pakistan, if he ever has been (there),” he said.
