Kankavali: The decision on Maratha reservation issue will be taken shortly and the attempts are being made to bring out the decision in legal frame only, claims the Minister of Industries and the President of Maratha Reservation Committee, Narayan Rane.
He was answering the Press on Friday at the conference held at his ‘Om Ganesh’ residence in Kankavali. “The State government has set up a committee under my presidency for Maratha Reservation. The committee meets several times. We are trying to understand the opinions of different people staying in every part of the State. The reservations of other backward class or any other community will not be reduced to provide reservation to the Maratha community.” Rane said.
He further informed that the decision in this issue will be taken before elections and reservation patterns in other states are being studied by the committee.
Decision on cheaper electricity to come shortly
“The State government has set up a committee under my presidency on this issue as well. The committee has studied if we can lower the rates of domestic, agriculture and industrial consumption of electricity by 10 – 20 per cent; the report on the study is submitted to the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan”, informed Rane.
