Demand for increase in Auto Rickshaw fare again!
Rickshaw unions want a fare hike on the basis of the hike recently took place in Pune
Mumbai- The auto rickshaw fare has been raised in Pune from 15 October. The decision has been taken that for the first one and a half kilometer, the fare will be Rs 17 and thereafter for each kilometer, it will be Rs 11.65. On the same note, the auto rickshaw organizations want the fare price to be raised in Mumbai.
The travel fare of the CNG enabled autos was raised by Rs 6 earlier. From then the inflation has increased rapidly. Thus the Mumbai Rickshawmen union has demanded a meeting on the similar basis of Pune. Tambi Kurien of the union said that the application for the meeting had been handed over to Shailesh Kumar Sharma of Mumbai Mahanagar Region Transport Tribunal, State Transport Commissioner V N More and concerned officials.
As per the new fare hike, the first lap is made up of 1.5 kilometers. The next lapses will be followed as the earlier fare rate card. At present the night charges are 50% more to the original fare. It has been decreased by 25% than the earlier one.
