Demolition of 44 illegal constructions in Pen
The Pen Municipal Council wiped out 44 illegal houses built on government’s land at Kaudhal Lake for last 30 years
Pen: The Pen Municipal Council wiped out 44 illegal houses built on government’s land at Kaudhal Lake for last 30 years. The Chief Officer Dr Vijaykumar Vhaske along with the support of 150 workers and those many police freed the whole area within 2 hours from 8 to 10am. Kaudhal Lake will now be beautified.
The Council had issued notices to 44 house owners on 26th November to release the encroachment. But the conflict between Council and House owners was moved to the court. The Pen Court delivered its decision on Council’s side and ordered to take action on illegal properties. Residents then appealed to District Sessions Court against this decision but in vein. The District Sessions Court also gave verdict against residents on 10th January 2014 and ordered to demolish this illegal construction. The owners were given seven days to empty houses but they did not move despite notice.
At last, the Chief Officer Dr Vijaykumar Vhaske, Civil Engineer Jagruti Pawar, Kiran Shah of Records Department, Daya Gawand of Health Department, Shekhar Abhang of Water Supply Department, Shivaji Pawar, Ramesh Deshmukh, Bharat Nimbre, Kailash Mhatre along with Assistant Officers, Office Head Purushottam Bhoir, 74 workers of Municipal Council, 80 contracted housekeeping workers and DySP Pradip Chavan, Police Inspector Suresh Mirge along with five more PI, seven Asst Police Officers and 150 Police reached to the location to take action.
This is the biggest ever action taken in the history of Pen Municipal Council. The brave decision taken by former Congress Minister Ravisheth Patil who leads the Pen Municipal Council and Town President Pritam Lalit Patil has successfully opened way for Kaudhal Lake’s beautification.
