Demolition process at Campa Cola starts, residents create obstacles


BMC has started the process of demolition at Campa Cola Compound

Campa-Cola-compoundMumbai: As the deadline given by Supreme Court to the residents for vacating illegal flats at Campa Cola Compound in Worli, has already ended yesterday, BMC has start the process of demolition today.

The residents have refused to move out of the compound where only 10 out of 96 unauthorized flats in the Campa Cola society have been vacated till now.

Five groups of 100 BMC workers have reached the compound to start demolition process but residents have parked their cars on a gate to stop them from entering into the premises. The water, electricity and gas connection of the compound will be disconnected today.

The force of around 400-500 policeman is alert near compound to ensure the smooth process of demolition and avoid any mishap.

The residents are appealed by all parties to cooperate with the demolition process till we get the opinion of Attorney General G E Vahanvati to save Campa Cola compound.
