Kudal: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has decided not to run buses from rural places in Kudal district as roads here are presently in worst conditions. ST official has sent letters in this regards to public representatives and construction department.
The roads in this district has deteriorated especially a road towards Sonawade village is full of huge potholes. Not only residents are suffering from this condition but ST buses are facing losses due to breaking down of various parts of the bus while traveling through these roads.
Drivers are devastated by these poor quality roads especially which connects villages like Adoswadi, Shivapur, Hirlok, Awalegaon, Aainmala, Pangdu, Fudbreej, Tersebambarde and Sarambal etc. These dilapidated roads are not only causing break downs of vehicles but various physical pains like back pain to commuters.
ST buses are facing major troubles and losses while running their buses on these routes. Therefore, ST depot head Jadhav wrote to local Sarpanch, Panchayat Committee members, Zila Parishad members and Chairman of civil construction department, asking to repair these roads as early as possible or it will become difficult to run buses here, he has mentioned in a letter.
As per the rules ST mechanic and concerned driver has to pay for any broken part of the ST bus which they are driving. In fact, it is injustice to them; they are least responsible for breaking down of spare parts because of poor quality roads.
Head office sends notice to the ST depot to question about breaking down of spare parts but they don’t consider condition of the roads. Hence, MSRTC has decided to terminate their services in this part of the region.
