Diwakar Raote calls Dr. Dabholkar, Shyam Manav as ‘Govt. Agent’
Vinod Tawade showed positive stand and asked for no bar on telling the mythological miracles from the traditional religious texts, Puranas and miracles from the life and times of the saints
Nagpur: Diwakar Raote, Shivsena leader in Vidhan Parishad called Shyam Manav and Dr. Narendra Dabholkar as ‘Government Agents’. Dabholkar and Shyam Manav were strongly demanding to get the black magic bill passed.
Various organizations criticized the statement and Raote had to apologize for the comment. The black magic bill was tabled in the both houses of the Maharashtra legislature. Earlier the chief minister Prithviraj Chavan had organized a meeting for the members of the both houses to discuss the proposed black magic act. Eknath Khadse, opposition leader, legislative assembly along with Vinod Tawde, opposition leader legislative council, Shivsena leader Subhash Desai and many other members were present at the meeting.
Vinod Tawde took a positive stand for the passing of the bill. Tawde said that there should not be any threat to tell the mythological miracles from the traditional religious texts, Puranas and from the life and times of the saints. He also asked that proper care should be taken so that there should not be any barricade over performing the traditional religious rituals and practices. On the other hand, Shivsena leader Diwakar Raote used bad language at Dabholkar and Manav afet the meeting in front of the media. He opposed the bill saying that the bill was against the religion. He also said that the bill was designed by the atheists and Dr. Narendra Dabholkar and Shyam Manav who were suggesting the amendments were the agents of the government.
Raote’s statement was criticized from all sections of the society.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Human sacrifice and other inhuman, ill practices and black magic curbing and inhibition act was tabled in the Vidhan Parishad on Tuesday along with other four bills.
