Dr Nilesh Rane most favorite MP: Survey
The Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Nilesh Rane has topped the position of Most Favorite MP in his region
The survey conducted by ‘Lokmat’ media group reviewed MPs’ work tenures of five years to make their ‘progress report’. This report states that the MP for Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg district, Dr Rane is on top of the list in Konkan. A strong representative of TalKonkan in Delhi, Rane could win the 7th ‘Rating Card’ behind four MPs who are Union Ministers and two MPs in Maharashtra.
Dr Rane who came into the position at the age of 28 is the first MP to receive support from 70 per cent voters. Currently, he is representing five districts in Ratnagiri and eight districts in Sindhudurg which counts 13 talukas and near four thousand villages.
Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg is believed to be largest constituency in Maharashtra. Dr Rane has been successful to reach very remote and rural areas of it. His 6.2 rating in this survey reflects his reach and attachment to the voters.
The survey was conducted with 48 MPs of Maharashtra on the grounds of their methodologies to work in parliament, their attendance, the questions that they raised in parliament and public’s opinion about them. The survey also reviewed the development works undertaken by them.
The Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, Praful Patel and Milind Deora scored 8 points followed by Raju Shetty in Western Maharashtra and Supriya Sule who scored 7 points. Following them Dr Rane is positioned on 7th rank with 6.2 ratings.
Dr Rane has raised total 575 questions in Lok Sabha of which 95 per cent issues are related to Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg. Whereas, it was found during the survey that Raigadh’s MP Anant Geete raised only 10 questions. 68 per cent public voted for Dr Rane to the questions related to MP’s methodology of work and his representation of constituency.
The questions raised by Dr Rane includes issues like four laning of NH 17, expansion and two laning of Konkan Railway, resistance to Madhav Gadgil report etc. He also protested to free Konkan from the nuisance of Eco-Sensitive zone. The four laning work of Zarap to Patradevi highway is undergoing after getting funds of Rs 260 crore approved.
100 per cent disbursement of MP fund, arrangement of funds worth crores of rupees under Prime Minister Rural Road Development scheme, fund raising from annual budget are some of the more issues that Dr Rane handled for Konkan. All these points were considered during survey.
