E-banking in Grampanchayats from today
Maharashtra is the first ever state in India to facilitate e-banking service in Grampanchayats of the State
Mumbai: Maharashtra is the first ever state in India to facilitate e-banking service in Grampanchayats of the State. The service was kick started on 10th February from Kalamb taluka of Yawatmal district.
E-banking will ease the bank processes like account opening, deposits, withdrawals, draft making, loan applications, direct deposits of subsidies etc. The Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan inaugurated this service. The rural development department has entered in a three way contract with Central government affiliated CSC-SPV Company for this project.
The Government has made it mandatory from 1st April 2013 to give 19 types of proofs that are given by Grampanchayats, online.
Through Sangram ward, cores like electricity and phone bill payment, railway-bus reservation, mobile recharge etc services will be available in Grampanchayats. The project has generated 21 thousand employments.
