Electricity theft rate drops from 35 to 14.5%
MSEDCL has been successful in controlling electricity theft all over the State
Mumbai: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) has been successful in controlling electricity theft all over the State. The measures taken by them have dropped the rate of electricity theft from 35 to 14.5 per cent, claims P K Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Power. He also said that MSEDCL is progressing on the background of overall situation of power sector in our country.
He travelled to Nashik, Ahmednagar and Pune to review progress and development in the sector. He also met concerned officers at Pune office. He was speaking after this meeting.
He found the schedule for electricity bills recovery and load shedding perfect. He further said that by executing feeder based power distribution, MSEDCL have given justice to the consumers. Facilities like call center, single window system are being executed very well.
In a meeting held at Pune, MSEDCL’s Chief Engineer Nilkanth Wadekar, Sudhir Wadodkar, Vasant Gujar, Prabhakar Devre and other senior officers of Central Electricity department were also present.
