Escalator at Kalyan Railway station was inaugurated by Ganesh Naik on Thursday
Kalyan: After Thane and Dombivli, commuters in Kalyan will also enjoy convenience of escalator. The escalator at Kalyan Railway station was inaugurated by Ganesh Naik, Thane Guardian Minister on Thursday.
These automatic stairways are installed at West side of the station on first platform. On this occasion, Naik appreciated efforts taken by Members of Parliament from Thane, Kalyan and Bhiwandi constituency who pursued the project of escalator continuously to make it reality.
Many commuters have complaint about the trouble at ticket reservation counters on Kalyan Railway Station at night. Naik has noted the same and instructed railway authorities to install CCTV cameras at concern places. He also assured that required funds for CCTVs will be disbursed by him or MP fund.
Along with him, MP Anand Paranjpe, MLA Prakash Bhoir, Ganpat Gaikwad, Divisional Railway Manager of Central Railway Mukesh Nigam, Commissioner at Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation Shankar Bhise were also present.
Naik also said that shortly division wise meetings will be held to resolve civic problems and development of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal territory. Efforts will be made by the State and Central ministry for this. Especially, the development of Kalyan East will also be focused. He added that Chief Minister has called a meeting in few days regarding cluster development in Thane district. Appropriate decision will be taken in this meeting.
Considering vast territory and inadequate facilities in Thane, it is inevitable to divide this district. This question will be raised aggressively in upcoming legislative session, said Naik.
