Fire in Mumbai building; none hurt

Fire at Padmavati Height Building

Mumbai: Fire broke out in a multi-storeyed commercial building in suburban Vile Parle here today leading to chaos in the area, fire officials said.

However, no casualty was reported in the blaze, they said.

The fire broke out on the 14th floor of Padmavati building near Andheri around 9.45 AM following which seven fire engines, four water tankers apart from four snorkels were rushed to the spot, they said.

The flames were put out by firemen around 12.45 PM, officials said, adding that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The 13th floor on the high rise, housing offices was also partly affected by the blaze.
