Five children killed, two injured in flour machine explosion
Munger: Five children were killed and two others were injured when a flour machine exploded in Bihar’s Munger district today, a senior police officer said.
Three children, aged between 12 years and 15 years died on the spot. Two others – aged eight years and nine years, who were undergoing treatment in a Begusarai hospital died, Munger Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Kumar Sinha said.
The children were killed when the engine of the flour machine which was attached to a tractor exploded, the SP said.
Two other children injured in the blast are undergoing treatment at the Begusarai hospital, Sinha said.
The children were standing near the flour machine awaiting their turn to get the wheat they carried crushed, he said.
A police probe has been ordered into the incident, the SP added.
