Girl child thrown out of train
Ranchi: A four-month-old baby girl was thrown out of the running Hatia-Patna Express by a woman near Argora on the outskirts of Ranchi but escaped the fall with a fracture.
“The girl child escaped with a fractured hand as she fell in a bushy area yesterday,” a police official of the Argora police station told reporters today.
Quoting witnesses, the official said the child was thrown from the train by a woman and the baby was found by another woman identified as Hazra Parveen Khatoon, he said.
Khatoon, who was standing near her son’s road-side tea shop, said she saw a woman flinging the child from the train.
She then took the baby to a hospital and the X-ray report found a fracture in the hand, Khatoon told reporters.
“The child escaped as it was put in a container and fell in a bushy area,” Parveen said.
The child is with a charity home now, he said.
