Govt to launch audio, video campaign against Maoists
With themes like ‘Ladai Nahi Padhai’ (No fight but only education), the government will soon launch an audio and video campaign
New Delhi: With themes like ‘Ladai Nahi Padhai’ (No fight but only education), the government will soon launch an audio and video campaign to discourage tribals from joining the ultra Left armed movement.
Four jingles will be aired through All India Radio and four videos will be telecast through Doordarshan regularly to reach maximum number of people in nine Naxal-affected states, Home Ministry officials said.
Through the jingles and videos, the government is planning to educate rural populace, especially tribals, the bad effects of violence, armed movement and the necessity of education and development.
The jingles and videos are made in four languages — Gondi, Nagpuria, Oriya and Telugu — and each of them is of four to 10 minutes of duration.
Apart from telecasting through Doordarshan, the videos will also be shown in Maoist-affected villages to make them aware evil effects of ultra Left movement.
Government will play the jingles through All India Radio as a counter to Maoist propaganda and will urge the villagers and tribals to distance themselves from Naxal groups and instead join the mainstream.
The AIR stations on the Medium Wave and Frequency Modulation will relay the jingles which is part of a multi- pronged strategy of the government to carry out development works in the Left Wing Extremism-affected areas.
