‘Hovercraft’ to watch over Konkan coastline
An advanced bulletproof ‘Hovercraft’ speedboat is introduced in the Coastal Security Force
Ratnagiri: On the background of terror attack on Mumbai via sea route, security provisions on Konkan coastline are increased. An advanced bulletproof ‘Hovercraft’ speedboat is introduced in the Coastal Security Force. The speedy boat loaded with advanced armory arrived at the Bhatye seashore in Ratnagiri on Thursday where it was tested. The process of decision making to add the boat in coastline security force is going on.
This England made boat will ease to keep watch over the coastline. The boat with 90 km per hour speed will be beneficial for rescue operations and to control pirates and boats without licenses. This boat which can run even on land will undoubtedly strengthen the security force.
“India has imported 12 such speedboats and six more boats are expected to arrive soon”, informed Mohendro Singh, Commanding Officer of Coastal Security Force.
Two Commanding Officers and 10 other employees are appointed on the boat.
