Rajapur: The process of giving monetary consideration for the land and compensation to those affected by proposed Jaitapur Nuclear Plant is facing obstacles due to complications in the verification of successors and share distribution. Hence, the Minister of Industry Narayan Rane has commanded Upper Collector Ajit Pawar to call an urgent meeting within next two days with the affected residents.
Recently, Rane had met these people and later those affected by the project rushed to the zonal office to collect their compensation. But an unsatisfactory process of verification of successors and share distribution process becomes an obstacle in the way to get the cheque.
On this background, a delegation of Congress Taluka President Ravindra Nagarekar, Wise Sarpanch Nandkumar Raut, Sushant Raut met Rane at his residence in Kankavali. They discussed about the obstacles in obtaining cheques of compensation.
This work is going on war front in Rajapur Zonal office but due to insufficient staff and inadequate documents senior citizens and ladies have to wait for long hours in the office. Hence, project affected are demanding government staff to visit the villages and completed the process of verification of successor. They are also demanding to conduct a direct survey of the lands being yield by expelled Kuls to decide the amount of compensation.
The minister in-charge of Sindhudurg district Narayan Rane commanded Upper Collector Ajit Pawar to resolve the obstacles in the process of giving cheques to project affected people in two days, informed Taluka President Ravindra Nagarekar.
