‘Koli Sea-Food Festival’ to kick start from Jan 10

Photo by Vinamra Acharekar - PRAHAARMumbai: The ‘Koli Sea-Food Festival 2014’, a delicious serving of traditional ‘Koli’ i.e. fisherman dance, cuisine and many varieties is taking place from January 10 to 12. Dharavi Koli Jamat Trust has organized the festival.

The festival would start at 6 pm in the evening in front of ONGC in Dharavi Koliwada.

The fisherman community is known as the traditional resident of Mumbai and is famous for the fishing business. The fisherwomen are specifically known for the selling of fresh and dry fish varieties. The visitors can taste the traditional sea food varieties along with bhakari. Fish varieties like Saranga, Ravas, Surmai, Ghol, Kolambi, Shewandi, Chimbori, Shivlya, Bamboke, Bombil/ Bombay duck, etc. and other fish varieties will be offered to the food lovers in the food section.
