Landslides disrupt train service in Gaya
Gaya: Landslides today blocked railway tracks at three places between Bilwa and Yadugram railway stations in Bihar’s Gaya district, disrupting train service for several hours on both the Up and Down lines, a railway official said.
Two landslides occurred on the Up line tracks, while another landslide happened on the Down line tracks between Bilwa and Yagugram stations around 10.35 AM, Arvind Kumar Rajak, CPRO, East Central Railway said.
Train service on the Down line remained disrupted for four hours before debris was removed from the tracks to resume traffic, he said, adding the 12801 Purushottam Express, which was halted at Koderma (Jharkhand) later left for Gaya.
Railway traffic on the Up line was yet to resume as efforts were on to clear the tracks from debris, Rajak said.
