LS polls: 1800 employees set to hold elections on 332 centres
Around 1800 employees are appointed to hold voting at 332 centres in Rajapur and Lanja-Sakharpa constituencies
Rajapur: The administration and employees are all set to conduct polling on April 17. Around 1800 employees are appointed to hold voting at 332 centres in Rajapur and Lanja-Sakharpa constituencies, informed Assistant election officer and Rajapur’s District Deputy Collector Pravin Khade.
This constituency has 2, 29,095 voters including 1, 24,300 male and 1, 04,795 female voters. Also those voting by post are 88 in number. Those who have registered their names in voting list till 16th March are eligible to vote in this election, said Khade.
There are 332 voting centres in Rajapur and Lanja-Sakharpa constituencies; of which 197 are in Rajapur, 108 in Lanja and 27 in Sangameshwar. 27 voting centres are known as ‘sensitive’ including 21 in Rajapur and 5 in Sangameshwar. No centre is extremely sensitive here, informed Khade.
Four administrative officers with one police officer are deployed on each centre totaling 1660 employees; 10 per cent employee strength is kept reserved. The administration has divided total constituencies in 33 parts; Rajapur 20, Lanja 10 and Sangameshwar have three parts. A special team of officers will work in these 33 parts. 35 ST buses and 48 reserved vehicles are kept ready to facilitate officers, employees and to transfer stationary etc, he said.
To conduct all the prepoll activities and other works related to voting, National English School of English Medium’s campus is booked. The work will commence from 16th April, 8am onwards, informed Khade.
