Mahad, the land of revolution, is all set for the 15th edition of Konkan Marathi Literary Festival here. The festival is taking place in between January 10 and 12th
Mahad has a special connotation in history as it is known for visits from Chhatrapati Shivaji and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The festival is organized by Konakn Marathi Sahitya Parishad.
As the cities are flooded with various fairs, Mahad is set to have literary delicacies for the people of Konkan and to all the literary enthusiasts in the state.
The prime focus of the festival is to ignite the youth for ‘keeping the reading culture alive’. Around 200 youths of Hirval Prathisthan, a Mahad based organization, will serve the literary enthusiasts during the fest.
Kavikatta, a special attraction to the poetry enthusiasts will be a platform for the poets to express their poem and one poet will be chosen from the enthusiasts.
The program will also contain a prize distribution ceremony of Konkan Sahitya Parishad’s literary and non-literary prizes.
A special section of photographs and rangli section to capture the beauty of Konkan is organized for the literary enthusiasts.
Noted poet Ashok Naigaonkar will be the chairman of the literary fest and the festival will be opened in the hands of veteran scientist Vijay Bhatkar.
Raigad district minister Sunil Tatkare, Mahesh Keluskar, President, Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Working president Namita Keer and founder Padmashri Madhu Mangesh Karnik along with Cine star and director Mahesh Manjrekar with Kishor Dharia will be present at the opening ceremony.
