Maharashtra government is mulling ‘Advantage Yavatmal’
Yavatmal: Maharashtra government is mulling ‘Advantage Yavatmal’ on the lines of a similar event held in recent past for Vidarbha region to attract industry players, Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe said here today.
“Yavatmal is my home district which is extremely backward industrially. The event will be organized with the cooperation of the Industry Department through the MIDC, local administration and Industrial Association of the Vidarbha Region.
A 21-point action plan would soon be declared to create more awareness among new entrepreneurs and industrialists and more incentives and subsidies would be announced to attract them, Moghe added.
“An MIDC of five-star status would also be set up in the district and a proposal for the same is pending at the government level,” the minister said, adding it can be somewhere in Kelapur Tehsil in the district.
Meanwhile, the industrialists and new entrepreneurs who attended the meeting raised various problems pertaining to the proposed textile park being set up in new MIDC area.
When asked about the outcome of the much-hyped ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ held earlier this year, Moghe said, “We have successfully organized Advantage Vidarbha at Nagpur and projects involving a huge amount of Rs. 14,000 crore were recorded at the program of which seven projects have already started their production while land acquisition for six others is in progress.
