Maharashtra Kesari tournament to flag off today
Maharashtra Kesari Kushti (Wrestling) Tournament is set to start today at Bhosari, Pune
Pune: Maharashtra Kesari Kushti (Wrestling) Tournament is set to start today at Bhosari, Pune. Olympic fame Narsingh Yadav has won the tournament for last two years. Chandrahar Patil, whochas also won this title twice, will also participate this year to lift the prestigious blunt mace (Gadaa) for the third time. This year the tournament has declared some new rules and it will also be video graphed.
The finals will be conducted on 4th December at 4pm on imported mats. The winner will be presented silver blunt mace. The groups are divided by the weights 55, 60, 66,74,84,96 and Maharashtra Kesari for soil and mat both the criterions. As usual the tournament will be played on group soil and mats and the finals will be conducted on mats.
Top three wrestlers will be awarded medals. 44 teams from all over the district will be participating this year. The tournament will take place at huge soil pit (Aakhara) constructed on 15 acres of area at survey number one of Maharashtra State Wrestling Parishad Bhosari on behalf of Maheshdada Sports Foundation and citizens of Bhosari village.
The village is all set for the tournament. Huge banners advertising this event are seen all over Pune and surrounding cities.
