‘Maharashtracha Swarajya’ promotes Marathi, releases tomorrow
Producer of the Marathi film ‘Maharashtracha Swarajya’ Ganesh Gopal Joshi today said the film is “of the children, for the children and by the children” and aims to promote Marathi language
The film, which will be released state-wide tomorrow, is based on story of a life of a Maharashtrian girl, who returns from abroad and how she tries to promote Marathi among children and youths back home, Joshi said.
Director of the film Subash Phadke said the film is different from other Marathi movies and has social messages like to preserve mother tongue Marathi and nurture better civic sense among children, who are the target audience.
“The film is relevant in today’s time because Marathi as a language and culture is fading away fast and through the movie, we want to preserve the language and its culture. This has so far been my most satisfying work,” Phadke said, who has directed more than 20 Marathi films.
Actress of the film Shilpa Dhanve said they are hopeful of the film striking a chord with the audiences.
The filmmakers said the film will also be screened in various schools across the state.
