MAMI to flag off on17th October
MAMI to be held in Mumbai from 17th to 24th October
Mumbai: Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI), One of the most important film festivals is set to please the movie lovers in Mumbai from 17th to 24th October. Recently, a poster and the program of this fest is announced in the presence of Shyam Benegal, President of MAMI along with Ramesh Sippi, Manager of the fest Shriniwasan Narayanan and Amit Khanna.
This year, MAMI will be presenting 200 films from 65 countries and will be awarding prizes worth Rs Two Lakh Twenty Thousand dollars. International film director Costa Gavras and Indian film producer, director and actor Kamal Hasan will be presented a life time achievement award in the festival. Also, special segment is introduced this year for Spanish as well as Cambodian films.
Movie lovers in every corner of world are always curious about the Afghan film industry which is enduring in challenging conditions. Hence, some Afghani films too will be screened during the festival. Some selected movies will be screened as a tribute to Yash Chopra and Rituparna Ghosh.
Various discussions and master classes are organized along with a debate by Academy of Motion Pictures during the festival. Special technology has been developed for the experience of world class picture quality and sound; Ujwal Nirgudkar is given a responsibility for the same. The organizers believe that having best quality movies on its schedule, MAMI is set to be the most important event in the city.
