Man kills wife in Maharashtra
Jalna (Maha) : A 38-year-old man allegedly axed his wife to death here and later surrendered, police said today.
Ashok Sura came to the Sadar Bazar police station with blood stains on his clothes yesterday and informed that he had killed his 25-year-old wife Pooja in the wee hours, Sub-Inspector Jaysingh Pardeshi said.
Ashok, also surrendered a knife, which was used to commit the crime, the official added.
“Ashok told us that Pooja used to often quarrel with him and beat him. The accused axed his wife to death while she was asleep,” Pardeshi added.
Following this, police reached the spot and found Pooja’s body with marks of knife on neck, chest and stomach, lying in a pool of blood.
The accused has been arrested and a case under section 302 (murder) of the IPC was registered, police said, adding investigations are underway.
