Maratha reservation now just around the corner

Mumbai: A committee formed under the Minister of Industries Narayan Rane submitted an important recommendation of 20 per cent reservation for Maratha community to the State Government. They presented a report on this to the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Wednesday.
The report has been made after conducting comprehensive studies of Maratha community ; hence as per the recommendations mentioned therein, reservation should be given to the Maratha Community, suggested the President of Committee Rane to the Chief Minister.
A meeting of committee was held at Legislative Assembly on Wednesday which was attended by committee member Balasaheb Thorat, Higher and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Tope, Social Justice State Minister Sanjay Sawkare, State Minister Fauzia Khan and other senior officers of concerned departments. The report was created after surveying 18.50 lakh people across the State.

“We have not only submitted recommendations but attached necessary proofs with it. No one must have ever submitted such report earlier. We conducted comprehensive study about educational, social and economic situation of Maratha community.
