Minister direct officials to remain alert

Nashik: In the wake of the major landslide in Pune’s Malin village, which has so far claimed lives of 63 people, Maharashtra PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal today said the district machineries should remain alert and maintain coordination among various departments to tackle situation of emergency.
Nashik’s guardian minister, Bhujbal said administration should be prepared to face any sort of natural calamity or such situation as the district has been receiving heavy downpour in last couple of days.
Presiding over a meeting of the district administration, the cabinet minister also asked the senior officials to remain alter and present at the office.
He said with spate of heavy rainfall, the water reservoirs in the district have been filled and availability of drinking water is sufficient.
District collector Vilas Patil, commissioner Nashik Municipal Corporation Dr Sanjeev Kumar and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
