Monga quits BJP, to join Congress
Former BJP councilor V K Monga today resigned from the party and said he will join Congress
In his resignation letter to state BJP president Vijay Goel, Monga, who, had earlier held the post of Chairman of Public Health Committee in unified MCD, accused senior BJP leader Harshvardhan of being responsible for his decision to quit the party, according to the sources.
They said Monga, in his resignation letter, said he tried to speak to top party leaders about his grievances but nobody responded to him.
“It is only when they realized that I had made up by mind to resign that they understood the gravity of the situation. But it was too late by then.
“I had made up my mind and will be joining Congress formally by September 6,” said Monga.
He alleged BJP has become bankrupt in its thought and actions. “As long as people like Harshvardhan are there at the helm of affairs, BJP cannot come to power in Delhi,” he said in the resignation letter.
DPCC president J P Agarwal had last week said the Congress leadership has agreed to take Monga into the party-fold.
