More than 59 per cent voting in Mizoram
More than 59 per cent polling was recorded for the lone Lok Sabha constituency in Mizoram today, according to Election Commission
Mizoram parliamentary seat witnessed 59.1 per cent turnout till the polling closed at 5 PM today, an increase of nine per cent from the last elections, said Asish Srivastav, Director General, Election Commission of India.
Besides, bye-election was held for one assembly seat Hrangturzo assembly seat with the turnout at 75 per cent, Srivastav said.
Srivastav said the elections were held in a peaceful manner in the state.
He said more than 1000 litres of liquor were seized in the run up to the elections.
