MSRTC’s never ending recruitment chaos
The chaos involved in the recruitment process of drivers and conductors is constant even after changing the recruitment agency
Mumbai: The chaos involved in the recruitment process of drivers and conductors is constant even after changing the recruitment agency. A new agency was appointed after enough confusion to recruit 1500 positions in the department but not a single advertisement is released even after 20 days of its appointment.
The contract for recruiting drivers and conductors and to conduct their recruitment test was given to ‘Sigma’ company. But the company could not fulfill the eligibility criteria, also delayed the recruitment process. Therefore, MSRTC terminated the contract with Sigma and issued new tenders. ‘Chanakya’ company was then appointed on 3rd January as a recruitment agency.
Suspiciously, a huge difference is seen in the amount quoted by every company for recruitment. Initially MKCL Company charged Rs123 per candidate whereas Sigma charged Rs 100 and surprisingly Chanakya charged Rs 60 per candidate. Sigma later asked to increase rate as it was not affordable to the company; Chanakya may do the same.
Chanakya has not started recruitment process even after fortnight of appointment. They say the discussion about eligibility and exam pattern is going on but why they need to discuss when the process had been executed twice before, asks Maharashtra ST Workers Union.
