Mumbai Police files charge sheet in Photojournalist rape case

Experts examine rape crime spotMumbai: Mumbai police today filed a 600-page-chargesheet in the Photojournalist’s gang-rape case. On 22nd August, a Photojournalist was gang raped at Shakti Mills compound premises, here.

This is the first chargesheet filed by the police after the 28 days investigation. Fort court handed over the case to session court. The first hearing is on 23rd September. After the gang rape over the Photojournalist flamed the anger across the nation. Officials of the crime branch said that there was no eye witness to the crime but with Prima Facie evidences and 86 witnesses, the case is strengthened.

On 22nd August the Photojournalist went to Shakti Mills compound premises for clicking the pictures. There Kasim Bangali, Mohammed Salim Ansari, Vijay Jadhav, Siraj Rehman Khan and another juvenile, who ran away, had committed a gang rape.

The police have charged them under IPC acts 376 (Gang Rape), 377 (Unnatural sex), 201 (Destroying evidences), 120 B (conspiracy). The custody of the accused ends on Thursday. It is expected that the police would ask custody for three of them for 31st July’s rape case committed upon the Telephone operator. The telephone operator was also gang raped in Shakti Mills premises.
