Nashik: Nashik Revenue Division comprising five districts of Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar are experiencing heat waves with day temperatures running between 40 degree to 43 degree celsius, official sources said here today.
People especially from rural parts of the district face difficulty getting drinking water reducing water level of the dams, according to reports reaching headquarters stated today.
The daytime temperature in Jalgaon has touched 40 degree celsius, while in Dhule the temperature is between 41 degree celsius and 42 degree celsius.
Nashik district is experiencing a daytime temperature between 39 degreee celsius to 40 degree celsius.
According to irrigation department sources, there is adequate water in the Gangapur Dam, which is main source of Nashik city’s main sources of water.
Water will be sufficient until July and hence the department has not announced any cut in water supply, sources said.
