New ‘Spider-Man’ costume is awesome: Marvel CCO
Los Angeles: Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, has said the costume for the new version of Spider-Man looks “awesome” and would “blow people away.”
Quesada discussed about the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot, staring Tom Holland in the titular role, at ongoing Comic-Con, reported Aceshowbiz.
“It looks awesome. I’ve seen a lot of design work that’s been done on the costume. I think there are elements of it that are really going to blow people away, where they are going to go ‘Ah, that’s Marvel doing Spider-Man.’ It’s Spider-Man,” Quesada said.
“What’s not exciting about that? I can’t imagine there’s a person on planet Earth that can’t relate to some aspect of Spider-Man or Peter Parker, and he is for all intents and purposes, he is Marvel’s Mickey Mouse,” he added jokingly.
Quesada also praised the crew behind the upcoming film.
“He is that icon of so much of what we have was built upon, so to create that movie along with our Sony partners it’s phenomenally exciting. I know Kevin Feige and his team, they’ve some great ideas, some wonderful theories that we have all chimed in on.”
Previously, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, already had a plan to make another version of the webcrawler’s costume.
It maybe because the upcoming movie will feature a younger version of Spider-Man. There is a speculation that the new costume will not be as polished as the costumes in “The Amazing Spider-Man” films and “Spider-Man” movie trilogy.
The new costume may be debuted next year as Tom Holland’s Spidey will reportedly make appearance in “Captain America: Civil War”, joining the likes of Chris Evans’s Captain America, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.
The “Spider-Man” reboot centres on Parker in his high school years.
In the upcoming movie, he has already been bitten by the radioactive spider so his origin story will not be addressed again. It is scheduled for a US release on July 28, 2017.
