Newspapers should change with time: Mhatre
Though newspapers have great contribution in India’s freedom struggle, considering people’s inclination in modernity, we should change with time, daily Prahaar’s Editor, Mahesh Mhatre stated
He was addressing the audience as a chief speaker at a conference on ‘Language and challenges ahead of small newspapers’, organized by HindustaniPrachar sabha.
Senior journalist Nandkishor Nautiyal, Firoz Paich of Hindustani Prachar Sabha, Kundan Vyas, Editor, daily Janmabhumi, Mumbai Mitra’s Editor Abhijit Rane and Sarfaraz Aarjoo, Editor, Rojnama Hindustan were present at the program.
Mhatre said, “We need to move forward by connecting modernism and newspapers. The newspapers should change with modernity coming into journalism. If it is not done, small and medium newspapers would close down. A change with time is necessary for keeping people’s liking into newspapers,” he said.
Meanwhile Nautiyal guided the audience on Gandhiji’s biography. Many journalists and citizens had gathered to attend the conference.
