Nilekani’s name shortlisted for Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency?
The Karnataka Congress shortlisted Nandan Nilekani, UIDAI chairman, with other candidates for Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency seat on Saturday
G Parameshwara, President, Karanataka Congress Election Committee had a first round of meeting with interested names for the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.
The state congress’ decision is seen as a provisional time for the candidates to make themselves updated about their constituencies.
It is reported that the first list of candidates to be released in the next month. The state congress committee also sought opinions of the district congress units on the present situation in the respective constituencies.
The All India Congress Committee observers along with the state unit of the party had three rounds before finalizing on the names of the candidates for the Lok Sabha. It is reported that once the names of the candidates are finalized by the observers and the state unit, the list would be sent to Congress President Sonia Gandhi for final approval.
