Nirbhaya Rape Case: All 4 accused held Guilty, sentence tomorrow
All the four accused in Delhi Gang rape case, also known as Nirbhaya rape case, were found guilty by the fast track court, under the charges of rape and murder. Sentence is to be declared tomorrow.
New Delhi: All four accused in the Delhi gang-rape case were found guilty under the charges of kidnapping, rape and murder, here on Tuesday at Saket district fast track court. The court will hear the arguments on the quantum of sentence on Wednesday. The family members of Nirbhaya have demanded the death sentence for the accused.
Accused named Mukesh (26), Vinay Sharma (20), Pawan Gupta (19) and Akshay Singh Thakur (28) were found guilty under the criminal acts of murder, unnatural offense, kidnapping, rape and disposing the evidences.
On 16th December 2012, a 23 years old paramedical student was gang-raped by six culprits. The rape victim and her friend were thrashed and were thrown out of the moving bus. The victim died on 29th December.
One of the accused was found juvenile. Thus a case against him was registered in Juvenile Delinquency court. He has been sentenced with three years imprisonment. Meanwhile another accused Ramsingh had committed suicide in Tihar Jail.
More than 100 eye witnesses have been tested. The proceedings of the case have been completed by the fast track court by 3rd September. Additional sessions judge Yogesh Khanna had declared that the verdict will be given on 10th September. PTI
