No immediate plans for bus fare hike

Himachal PradeshShimla: Himachal Pradesh government today said that they were no immediate plans to raise the bus fares and it was exploring other options to raise the revenue.

“We are not considering any hike in the bus fares at present,” Transport Minister GS Bali said.

“Various other options like providing advertising facility on LCD screens at bus stands are being explored to increase the revenue,” the minister said after a meeting with the board of directors of Himachal Road Transport Corporation here.

Bali said that Assured Career Promotion Scheme (ACPS) for providing incentives to employees after four, nine and fourteen (4-9-14) years of service was approved by the board in the meeting.

500 new buses were being inducted into the HRTC fleet and it would also get 800 more buses under JNNURM, the minister said.
